With the release of Honda e, Honda has entered the market of electric vehicles. Where some companies have taken their previous models and converted them to EV’s, Honda, on the other hand, has presented us with a whole new concept of electric vehicles in the form of Honda e.
Honda first teased this model in the form of a concept car 2 years ago but nobody thought they would see it as a production model. By releasing this model, Honda has surprised everybody (Probably a lot of their employees as well!!). Now let’s consider all of the things which separate this car from all the other EV’s.
As you can see in the photos, Honda e features different interiors than any other car that we have seen before. The dashboard is of a retro-tech design because of the wooden texture used in it. Because of the fabric that we often find on our sofa, this car gives us a home-like feel which is relaxing for some people. There is plenty of headroom but not a lot of legroom in the rear because it is a smaller compact car. The rear seats have been designed to look like a bench.
There are many things to notice about this vehicle but as soon as you get inside the car the focal point of your eyes automatically shifts to the infotainment system so that you don’t notice the plastic used in some other places. The infotainment system features an 8.8-inch display for the driver and two 12.3 inch displays which are arranged one after the other.
There are no side mirrors in this car but Honda e uses two digital mirrors which can be used instead of side mirrors so that you don’t have to look out of the car(Also you don’t have to worry about someone scratching them!). From listening to music on Spotify and watching stuff on Netflix to controlling features of your car, everything can be done using this infotainment system. We don’t wanna explain much about the infotainment system because you have to see it yourself to experience it.
Battery, Price And Range of Honda e
Honda e features a 35.5 kWh battery out of which 32 kWh is usable. So you should get a 200 km real-life range from this vehicle with an efficiency of 16 kWh/100km.
(The range may vary because of the climatic conditions)
There are two types of charging options available, one with fast charging and the other one with normal charging. Fast charging the vehicle takes around 31 minutes while charging it with Type 2 charges takes approximately 5 hours and 45 minutes.
The pricing varies according to different countries but we have mentioned some of them accordingly as follows:
The United Kingdom £26,660
The Netherlands €35,330
(Please check the official website of Honda to get accurate details about Prices here: https://www.honda.co.uk/cars/new/honda-e/overview.html)
Performance and Seating Capacity
We know that it can’t compete with Tesla because of being a smaller compact urban car. Here are the specs listed by Honda for Honda e :
Total Torque 315 Nm
Acceleration Can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds
Total Power 100 KW(136 PS)
Top Speed 145 km/h
Honda e has a seating capacity of only 4 people but that is enough for someone who is going to use in urban areas.
You can take this car anywhere in the city without having to worry about turning tight corners and parking spaces because of the fact that it is so compact that it can fit anywhere. The steering feels responsive and it has a low centre of gravity because of the battery placement, so you will have a lot of fun while driving this car.
