As you can guess from the photo, this car is certainly a beast. This is the quicker car in the world. Tesla Roadster is set to release in 2021 after the release of a newer version of Tesla Model S. This is certainly a race car as the build suggests. The roadster also features a removable glass roof(First time ever). The delivers for Roadster haven’t begun as of yet but you can certainly reserve your car right now by going on the official website of Tesla. We don’t have many details about the variants of this car or whether Cheetah Stance will be included in it or not(The car certainly doesn’t need it).
Now let’s get on with the specs and features of Roadster.
Battery, Range and Price
Tesla Roadster Long Range offers a real-world range of 997 km/620 miles which is greater than any other EV present in the market. Range of Roadster may vary between 690 km and 1405 km. While driving in a city in normal weather, you can squeeze up to 1400 km out of the battery of this EV. But you gotta be careful while driving on a highway in a cold-weather because it can only offer a range of approximately 695 km(Which is still a lot in my opinion).
(These are just estimates. The official data can only be confirmed only after the release of the vehicle)
Roadster houses a massive battery of 200 kWh out of which usable battery capacity is 200 kWh. The battery is just the double of Model S. This EV supports both methods of charging i.e. Fast charging/Supercharging and normal charging.
Fast Charging: The battery can be fast-charged by using a DC charger of 250 kW. A fast charger can charge the battery to provide a range of up to 750 km in just 44 minutes at a charging speed of 920 km/h.
Normal Charging: The battery can be charged by using an AC charger of 16.5 kW. The normal charger can charge the battery to provide a range of up to 900 m in 10 hours and 45 minutes at a charging speed of 90 km/h.
Tesla has a wide range of superchargers spread across the globe. So you don’t have to worry about the battery percentage while going on a long drive. The car automatically locates the nearest charger and shows you the location on the map.
We have mentioned pricing options for some of the countries:
United Kingdom £189,000
India Not available yet
(The actual price of the vehicles may vary because of the accessories which you may buy with the EV and according to your country of residence. Please visit the official website for more details: https://www.tesla.com/roadster)
Performance and Interior
Tesla Roadster can go from 0 to 60 mph in a whopping time interval of 1.9 seconds(best in class). This makes Roadster the fastest car in the world even better than Model S. The motor of this EV produces total torque of 1200 Nm and total power of 1000 kW. The top speed of the Roadster is 410 km/h which is greater than every other EV in the segment.
The roadster is a car with 4 seats(first ever in a race car). Although the pictures have revealed the front seats to be quite spacious, we believe that large people may have to face a lot of problem fitting in the rear seats due to the design of the car. What you can notice in the photos is that there are not many things on the dashboard of the car. It will probably feature the unique tesla air vents as well. Instead of the starting wheel, the vehicle will be controlled by a stick that is usually featured in Formula One race cars on in aircraft. So that’s another unique feature of this car. The seats will also be a little different according to the design of the car.
Safety and Warranty
Tesla Roadster hasn’t been tested yet. But it will probably feature some of the features which are common in other Tesla’s as well. Some of these safety features are:
- Lane departure warning
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Driver Assist System (commonly known as Autopilot )
- Automated Emergency Braking
- Traction Control
- Blind Spot Monitor
- Cross-Traffic Alert
(Do check out the YouTube videos regarding the Autopilot System !!)
We are sorry but we will only be able to provide the details about the warranty of the car when Tesla starts delivering the vehicle. So please keep visiting our website our website for the latest updates.
